He and his wife of 53 years, Margaret (Lollie) Jackson, also owned and operated a campground and RV resort in Lakehead, California, and a rustic lodge at Big Bear Lake, California, in the 1970’s.Ĭarl was preceded in death by his wife in October of 2014, his parents Carl Devoy Jackson and Etta Mae Jackson, and son-in-law Robert Crabtree. He entered the Coast Guard on November 15, 1951, and was medically retired due to physical disability on July 1, 1953, after surviving 2-years in an iron lung battling Polio.Īfter his release from the Coast Guard, he went to work for his father’s business, Independent Foundry Supply Company in Commerce, California. Jackson, resident of Carson City, Nevada, for 42 years, passed away peacefully at his home on March 4, 2023, at the age of 88 after a brief battle with COVID. ![]()
